Kathmandu, Nepal – Kantipur International College proudly announces the successful completion of its five-day workshop on Research Methodology and Statistical Application, held from 2081/02/12 to 2081/02/16. The workshop provided an intensive learning experience, equipping participants with essential research and statistical skills.
Day 1: Inaugural Session and Applied Research Concepts
The workshop began on 2081/02/12 with a breakfast and registration session at 7:30 AM, followed by the inaugural session at 8:00 AM. CMC, Chairperson Mr. Pratap Raj Joshi, Key-Note Speaker Prof. Dr. Jiba Raj Pokharel, Research Head & Resource Person Prof. Dr. Shyam Bahadur Katuwal, and Resource Person Dr. Surendra Mahato led the opening ceremonies, which included Khada distribution to guests, the national anthem, and Deep Prajwolan (lighting the Panas). The day’s sessions focused on the concept of applied research, research approach, and research design, facilitated by Prof. Dr. Jiba Raj Pokharel and Prof. Prem Raj Panta, PhD.
Day 2: Formulating Research Problems and Hypotheses
On 2081/02/13, Prof. Madhav Raj Koirala, PhD, guided participants through the formulation of research problem statements, hypotheses, and research questions. Prof. Shankar Khanal, PhD, led sessions on measurement, scaling, instrument development, and the application of qualitative data in research. The day concluded with a discussion and practice session facilitated by Prof. Shyam Bahadur Katuwal, PhD.
Day 3: Introduction to SPSS and AMOS Software
The third day, 2081/02/14, featured practical sessions on SPSS and AMOS software installation and introduction, conducted by Dr. Surendra Mahato. Participants engaged in data entry, editing, import/export of data, and descriptive analysis, gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Day 4: Advanced Statistical Analysis
On 2081/02/15, Dr. Surendra Mahato led participants through advanced statistical analysis techniques, including parametric and non-parametric statistical tests, data analysis using correlation, factor analysis, regression analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS. The sessions provided participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in data analysis and interpretation.
Day 5: Writing and Publishing Research Papers
The final day, 2081/02/16, focused on writing and publishing research papers. Prof. Shyam Bahadur Katuwal, PhD, led the sessions, guiding participants through the practice of writing research papers and presenting their research. The workshop concluded with a closing and certification session, where participants received certificates for their successful completion of the program.
The workshop was an excellent opportunity for students, researchers, and professionals to enhance their research capabilities and statistical analysis skills. The comprehensive program and expert guidance ensured that participants left with valuable knowledge and practical skills applicable to their academic and professional endeavors.
